Rabbit Proof Fence – Podcast Project

Your task is to produce a Podcast on a particular aspect of Rabbit Proof Fence. Your Podcast will be hosted on our blog site Grange8s.

You will work with a partner to produce your Podcast in GarageBand. It will be a project that will predominantly take place in class, but will also require some homework, particularly on the script.

The essence of if a good Podcast is to have a really strong script. You need to make sure your script runs for at least 3 minutes. You also need to make sure that both you and your partner can confidently read the script with appropriate tone, intonation and colour in your voices. THIS REQUIRES PRACTICE!

“What is the purpose of this text?”

This is a question we need to begin thinking about when we deconstruct texts. Try and think of some examples of texts that you have read recently and identify the author’s purpose.

Our text this term is Rabbit Proof Fence. It deals largely with the Stolen Generation and themes to do with culture, identity and family. We will begin to look at the film next week so stay tuned.

We invite you in the meantime to post a comment about what you think the  Stolen Generation was and also to begin thinking about what sort of an impact it may have had on people’s lives.
